Islam
Interesting to find that the first wave of Muslims to North America came through the slave trade, so Muslims have been on the lands of the Americas for a very long time. Many slaves were forced to be Christian, but about 13 years after the Civil War there was the Great Migration of humans with darker variances of skin tone to the north that brought a resurgence of the African-American Muslim Nationalist Movement.
Muslims from the Middle East came in good number from 1878-1924, then again in the 50's, there are also Muslim people came from Asia, Africa and South America.
There are 5 Pillars of Islam; 1. a profession of faith, 2. prayer, 3. alms (giving to the less fortunate), 4. fasting (during Ramadan), 5. a pilgrimage (to Mecca).
Studies have been done which show that somewhere between 76-78% of Muslims say killing civilians is not justified; in comparison about 59% of the U.S. general public say killing civilians is not justified.
