 Could you imagine living in a society that allows half it's people to be paid an ever lowering percentage of the amount of money it takes to live comfortably? What if the people accept such a society as just the way it is even as a certain group continues to amass such large amounts of wealth that it becomes impossible for them to spend it? What kind of leaders would allow a gap in income to occur that a tiny portion of people holds more wealth than the larger portion of people in their society?

A review in December 2024 found that in the United States of America there is an issue with distribution of wealth and we all accept it. The wealthiest people make up one percent of society and hold over thirty percent of the wealth. It is good to know that there is a group that makes up just under fifty percent of society and they hold sixty seven percent of the wealth. That is not too bad, a nice percentage of us is doing pretty well, but that leaves about fifty percent of the people trying to live on two percent of the wealth. Can you imagine a group of leaders that creates rules that allow such a gap in the availability of comfort to people they should be supporting and helping to rise in their monetary place in society?

Fifty percent of the people in the USA are living on two percent of the money that is available; if that were food then they would be going hungry. Sadly around fifteen percent of U.S. households experience food insecurity, which means we are accepting people going hungry. It is not for lack of trying, about half the households facing food insecurity have at least one adult working full-time. More than eighty four percent of families receiving assistance from Snap have someone working at least part time, but wages are too low to support living.

We are not as lazy a country as some would have us believe. I have witnessed people who are working full-time, trying to keep a roof over their head and having to choose between food and warmth. I have been told that it is their choices that have put them there, but if we look at ourselves we know that many of us have made choices that have created opportunities for failure, but we should have had a fair income that would allow us to set aside money for these moments. No one can deny we have an income gap from the highest paid to the lowest that leaves some suffering under lack while others have multiple houses, travel, with food or drink to their desires content.

I know that we can build everyone up, while those who have the most are allowed to keep their comforts around them and the people lacking are put into a position to have their security grow. Whether we follow concepts like Binary Economics or determine a way to fairly shrink the current wage gap within corporate America, there is a way for wealth to be spread more evenly among all the people of our nation and also the world.
