It seems as though Nietzsche, in his “Antichrist” is stating that Jesus himself tried to point people in the direction of their own connection to God.  No salvation needed, just understanding of what we are and where we come from.

 I wonder how much faith you would put into the sincerity of a person who says they are self made and came from nothing, then it came to light that their career began at their father's real estate company? Which they were given and were able to expand because of their father's financial and political backing that enabled them to do their first deals, demolishing and renovating landmark buildings.
