It seems as though Nietzsche, in his “Antichrist” is stating that Jesus himself tried to point people in the direction of their own connection to God.  No salvation needed, just understanding of what we are and where we come from.

Men

 I have been inspired by many men in my life, from family members to those I never knew but who made me push my mind. I try to find a lesson through every person I meet, and there has been so much inspiration given to me by wonderful and wise women in my life, but right now I will stick with the men who have brought something memorable to my life. The other

 When a group of people is separated out because they look a certain way or speak differently, and they are treated as if they had no rights I would hope to be connected with those who protect them. Instead I find myself living in the country that is committing the act of separation and cruelty towards an entire group based on slight differences. My country has made the value of life be based on how we look and where our family is from, instead of being based on the life we have lived and what we have done in the world. We have been a nation of immigrants since the day Europeans landed on these shores and began marking the lands lived on by the natives as their own. We have gone through times when we destroyed societies because they lived on this land before us, or we kept the other chained to do all the work because they looked different. Would you

 I wonder how much faith you would put into the sincerity of a person who says they are self made and came from nothing, then it came to light that their career began at their father's real estate company? Which they were given and were able to expand because of their father's financial and political backing that enabled them to do their first deals, demolishing and renovating landmark buildings. Would you trust a person who in order to avoid the financial ruin of their businesses used methods which were legally dubious to avoid paying taxes, and whose own lawyers described their activities as improper. When we consider the people who have come from poverty or lived near the edge of poverty throughout parts of their younger lives and have been able to build a world around themselves that supports a comfortable living experience for their families, then we can compare and see what self made really looks like.
