 I wonder how much faith you would put into the sincerity of a person who says they are self made and came from nothing, then it came to light that their career began at their father's real estate company? Which they were given and were able to expand because of their father's financial and political backing that enabled them to do their first deals, demolishing and renovating landmark buildings. Would you trust a person who in order to avoid the financial ruin of their businesses used methods which were legally dubious to avoid paying taxes, and whose own lawyers described their activities as improper. When we consider the people who have come from poverty or lived near the edge of poverty throughout parts of their younger lives and have been able to build a world around themselves that supports a comfortable living experience for their families, then we can compare and see what self made really looks like.  Sometimes we find ourselves in the flow of the forces of nature in the middle of existence, and despite our own desires or fears we are asked to alter our state of being to continue with that flow. I have found my own choices moving through time have become so altered and twisted that from one year to the next I was nearly unrecognizable to my mind. While I changed, despite becoming more responsible, supporting more than my own life and mingling with the minds of others I have kept my heart playful and full of joy. As I toy around in the structured view of reality that so many people hold onto, I move with their fears or desires to be a guide in this place. I have had to bend to help them see a little more of the light and power that resides in them. I have given into time, I have handed my body over to space and my mind is often now a tool for others, but I remain within these layers because I am open to move with the flow as it is.  This world is part of a creative energy and each of us should have an equal share in the gifts that it makes available to us just for being here. When we allow greed to rule over our experience we lose a large portion of our wonderful freedom; the freedom to go out and experience everything around us at will. If we give ourselves over to childish desire and any form of selfish executive control we will find ourselves being used to serve that which is against our own joy. The idea of a shared level of comfort spread across the entire human race should not be outside of our daily thinking. Each of us is as worthy of a well balanced life with fine food, shelter and some play as any other person. We can move into a state of being where the rich can remain at their level of comfort while others rise in their net worth to the point of not having to worry daily about how they will survive.
